Code Électoral : Les Députés Convoqués Ce Jeudi

Après la validation en Conseil des ministres, ce lundi, 5 juillet 2021, des points qui ont fait l’objet de consensus au dialogue politique, le gouvernement passe à la vitesse supérieure pour le code électoral. Il a déposé un nouveau projet de loi sur la table du président de l’Assemblée nationale. Celui-ci vise a intégré, dans le Code électoral, les points consensuels comme, entre autres, l’élection du maire au suffrage universel direct, la suppression du parrainage.

Dans un décret daté du 5 juillet 2021, Macky Sall convoque les élus en session extraordinaire, après-demain, jeudi, pour l’examen dudit projet de loi. Sur la note, il est mentionné que c’est le ministre de l’Intérieur qui fera face aux députés pour défendre ce projet.

« Le projet de loi portant Code électoral dont le texte est annexé au présent décret, sera présenté à l’Assemblée nationale par le ministre de l’Intérieur qui sera également chargé d’en exposer les motifs et d’en soutenir les discussions », mentionne l’article 3 du décret.

Officiellement, les élections territoriales sont prévues le 23 janvier 2022. Contrairement à ce que de nombreux observateurs craignaient, si cette modification du Code électoral passe, le 8 juillet prochain, le Sénégal sera dans les délais du protocole additionnel de la CEDEAO qui interdit toute modification de la loi électorale, sans un consensus fort, à 6 mois d’une élection.
