D’emblée, il faut constater , avec beaucoup de regret que la presse , au lieu de se préoccuper du rôle pédagogique qui est le sien , est accaparé, contrôlé et guidé par des pouvoirs et forces anti progressistes.Un tel désastre a fait constater , à un analyste, ceci de pertinent : »une démocratie menacée par une collusion des élites journalistiques, politiques et économiques… ».Aussi, le peuple est, malheureusement, endormi, trompé et désorienté par des organes de propagande au service d’un pouvoir conscient de l’impact de l’information sur la perpétuation de l’obscurantisme , sans lequel la révolte des masses abusées est inévitable.Nos braves journalistes , étrangers au talent et ignorant l’éthique, contribuent au renforcement du régime .Ils ignorent la leçon que donne Camus , lorsqu’il dit : »le journalisme n’est pas une école de perfection ».À ces dires j’ajoute que le journalisme est une école de déconstruction et de parturition. En journalisme, il importe plus de déranger l’autorité que de lui plaire , au risque de souffrir de la censure . D’ailleurs le journaliste Camus , en véritable combattant, dans le journal Combat, faisait observer cette vérité: »Un journal libre se mesure autant à ce qu’il dit qu’à ce qu’il ne dit pas « .Analysant cette phrase qui recèle des sens et des messages importants , l’on peut s’intéresser au contenu de l’information transmise par la presse .Quand le contenu conforte le pouvoir dans sa volonté d’appauvrir les masses et de cacher la vérité ,il devient plus nuisible que le poison et le virus qui traumatise l’humanité.Pour éviter un tel reniement des principes fondateurs du journalisme qui doit être un moyen de veille et d’alerte , il urge de se plier à la déontologie ,et de se démarquer de la recherche effrénée des biens mondains .Des journalistes ont pu , par le rôle prépondérant joué dans le processus de démocratisation de leurs pays , écrire de belles pages de leur existence , parfois même en usant de leur sang comme encre.Le souvenir de Khassogi, de Norbert Zongo, est encore frais dans nos mémoires .On ne les oubliera jamais , car ils ont su tenir très haut le flambeau du journalisme adossé à l’éthique et à la vérité .Au-dela de l’information qu’il cherche à diffuser , dans toute la plénitude de l’exactitude, le journaliste remplit bien des fonctions utilitaires dans la société où il se meut .Il ne doit pas se contenter d’informer , mais il doit se poser en eternel éveilleur des consciences , surtout dans nos sociétés où l’obscurantisme avance à pas de géant parce que promu par le pouvoir et des forces qui lui sont favorables .Et , dès lors , se pose la question du méta-journalisme , qui doit interpeller la conscience de tous les acteurs de la presse .La critique du travail journalistique devient une pratique quotidienne dans ce Sénégal où chacun cherche à obtenir l’information la plus détaillée possible .Sachant que l’information est au coeur des communautés humaines , et que la survie du pouvoir politique en dépend largement , le journaliste est devenu , de nos jours , l’homme le plus craint et le plus courtisé par ceux qui aspirent à diriger le pays .Et , les enjeux sont alors de taille .Qui contrôle l’information accède au pouvoir et parvient à le conserver advitam eternam, a-t-on l’habitude de dire .C’est conscient de cela que l’on cherche , par tous les moyens, à embrigader la presse en lui faisant jouer un rôle qui n’est pas celui que le peuple attend de lui .Il urge alors d’opérer une purge au sein de la colporation .Il y va de son éclat et de sa survie!
