Reçu sur les antennes de la télévision nationale, le professeur Moussa Seydi ( Chef du Service des Maladies infectieuses de l’hôpital Fann, Responsable de la prise en charge médicale des patients COVID19 au Sénégal ) revient sur les 60 jours de la pandémie au Sénégal ( 2 Mars – 2 mai 2020 )
Rappelons que depuis le début de la pandémie, le professeur a la lourde responsabilité de veiller à la prise en charge médicale des patients du Coronavirus au niveau national, sa principale arme de lutte contre le COVID19 reste pour le moment La CHLOROQUINE ( inspirée des études du docteur RAOULT..)
En rappel, l’utilisation de la CHLOROQUINE n’est pas approuvée par l’Organisation Mondiale de la Santé, qui appelle à plus de prudence et dénonce de ‹‹ faux espoirs ››.
A l’OMS de craindre une Automédication de particuliers, vu sa facile accessibilité.
En cas d’épidémie ou de pandémie dit-il, c’est tout le peuple qui doit se mobiliser, le combat se situe au niveau communautaire.
Et aussi un engagement des autorités, ‹‹ je peux signaler l’engagement fort du chef de l’État ›› à travers les mesures prises d’urgence depuis l’apparition du Covid19, sinon on en serait à 10.000 cas si de telles précautions n’étaient pas tenues compte.

Mais ‹‹ Je suis de nature optimiste.. je suis serein..
Je n’ai pas d’inquiétude particulière par rapport aux malades de Dakar..
De mon point de vue, il n’y a pas d’inquiétude à se faire..›› conclut Dr Seydi sur cette problématique.
Et sur la durée du traitement, l’âge du patient peut déterminer le temps d’hospitalisation, allant jusqu’à 19 jours pour les personnes âgées.
D’après les analyses préliminaires rétrospectives de données faites par l’équipe du professeur et l’Institut Pasteur de Dakar, la durée médiane d’hospitalisation des patients qui n’avaient pas pris de médicaments était de 13 jours, de 11 jours quand les patients avaient pris de hydroxy-chloroquine, de 9 jours quand les patients avaient pris l’association de l’hydroxychloroquine et l’azithromycine. Des résultats encourageants, juge le professeur Moussa Seydi.
Et seuls 12 patients sur 362 ont eu des effets secondaires.
Revenant sur les rumeurs portant sur une rupture de stock de médicaments destinés à la prise en charge des patients du Covid19, Dr Seydi reste catégorique. ‹‹ Il n’y a jamais eu de rupture de médicaments ››.
Répondant sur la nécessité de trouver un vaccin contre le COVID19, préconisée par certains experts, Dr Seydi pense que ‹‹ Créer un vaccin contre une maladie non immunisante est extrêmement difficile »
Interrogé sur le Covid-organics, la solution malgache, il explique que des échantillons sont bien reçus, ici au Sénégal pour des analyses.
Et le docteur s’est montré choqué, sur les arguments d’experts conseillant une contamination à grande échelle qui certainement entraînera ‹‹ une immunité collective ››
Ce, le docteur y voit une absurdité vu que la maladie est non-immunisante.. et « On risque d’aller vers l’hécatombe si on tente cette expérience. » En réponse aux arguments de Dr Pape Moussa THIOR qui soutient que ‹‹ Ce n’est pas une mauvaise chose d’avoir des cas communautaires. Quand le virus circule, surtout si vous avez une population très jeune, ce qui est notre chance en Afrique, il y a ce qu’on appelle le développement d’anticorps chez cette population jeune. Et, cela va constituer un frein au réseau de distribution de la maladie, et protéger les personnes qui sont vulnérables »
Sur les malades décédés du Coronavirus. Le professeur Moussa Seydi argue que tous les malades décédés avaient pour la plupart des antécédents pathologiques très lourds, des comorbidités.

Mais toutefois il reste très optimiste face au projet de dotation d’un centre de traitement des épidémies à chaque région.
