La fameuse Journée Sans Ticket qui consiste à se restaurer gratuitement dans les restaurants universitaires est devenue, depuis un moment, le moyen de lutte syndicale par excellence des étudiants de l’Université Gaston Berger de Saint-Louis. C’est ainsi, que le CROUS a tenu, ce dimanche 31 janvier 2021, un point de point de presse pour informer sur l’impact de cette pratique qui prend des dimensions inquiétantes. A titre illustratif, une baisse de recettes de près 40 millions francs CFA a été enregistrée durant les 29 jours du mois de janvier où les étudiants se sont restaurés gratuitement. Par ricochet, le CROUS devra payer 360 millions francs CFA aux repreneurs. Rappelons que les motifs avancés par la commission sociale pour justifier les JST ne gènent en rien le fonctionnement normal des services offerts aux étudiants.
Par conséquent, la Direction du CROUS, à travers ce point de presse, a tenu à informer la communauté universitaire ainsi que l’opinion nationale de la décision d’arrêter toutes prestations des restaurants universitaires, à chaque fois que les étudiants décideront d’une « JST ».
La Direction du CROUS, par la voix de son Directeur Papa Ibrahima FAYE, a réitèré son ouverture au dialogue à l’endroit des responsables des étudiants et veillera, conformément à sa mission, à l’amélioration des conditions de vie des étudiants dans ses campus sociaux.
