Le conseil constitutionnel a finalement rejeté le recours qui avait été formulé par des députés de l’opposition. Celui-ci est lié à la levée de l’immunité parlementaire de Ousmane Sonko.
Pour justifier son rejet, le Conseil Constitutionnel a, entre autres, indiqué que la résolution visant la levée de l’immunité est dépourvu de tout caractère normatif et n’entre pas dans son domaine de compétence, renseigne la Rfm.
« En réalité, on ne s’attendait pas à autre chose qu’un rejet. Lorsqu’on portait cette position de principe au niveau du Conseil constitutionnel nous savions, d’ores et déjà, que notre saisine ne pouvait pas aboutir à un résultat positif », a déclaré El Malick Gueye du Grand Parti.
