L\u2019ancien pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique Val\u00e9ry Giscard d\u2019Estaing est mort mercredi 2\u00a0d\u00e9cembre, \u00e0\u00a0l\u2019\u00e2ge de 94\u00a0ans\u00a0dans sa propri\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019Authon dans le Loir-et-Cher.\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0Son \u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 s\u2019\u00e9tait d\u00e9grad\u00e9 et il est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 des suites du Covid 19\u00a0\u00bb, a \u00e9crit sa famille dans un communiqu\u00e9 transmis \u00e0 l\u2019Agence France-Presse (AFP).\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0Conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 sa volont\u00e9, ses obs\u00e8ques se d\u00e9rouleront dans la plus stricte intimit\u00e9 familiale.\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0Il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 hospitalis\u00e9 \u00e0\u00a0plusieurs reprises ces derniers mois pour des probl\u00e8mes cardiaques.<\/p>\n

Val\u00e9ry Giscard d\u2019Estaing est n\u00e9 le 2\u00a0f\u00e9vrier\u00a01926, \u00e0 Coblence (Allemagne), o\u00f9 son p\u00e8re, Edmond Giscard, est directeur des finances du Haut-Commissariat de France en Rh\u00e9nanie, r\u00e9gion alors occup\u00e9e par l\u2019arm\u00e9e fran\u00e7aise. Sa m\u00e8re, May Bardoux (1901-2003), est la fille du s\u00e9nateur, puis d\u00e9put\u00e9 du Puy-de-D\u00f4me et membre de l\u2019Institut\u00a0Jacques-Bardoux, et la petite-fille d\u2019Ag\u00e9nor Bardoux, \u00e9galement d\u00e9put\u00e9 et s\u00e9nateur du m\u00eame d\u00e9partement, et ministre de l\u2019instruction publique au d\u00e9but de la IIIe\u00a0R\u00e9publique. Jacques Bardoux est \u00e9galement un \u00e9crivain prolifique, et re\u00e7oit \u00e0 ce titre le prix de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie fran\u00e7aise.
