CAN : Sadio Mané Délivre Le Sénégal Contre Le Zimbabwe

Après une partie décevante, le Sénégal s’est imposé face au Zimbabwe (1-0) dans les dernières secondes, sur un penalty de Sadio Mané, et réussit entrée en lice dans la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations.
Finaliste en 2002 et lors de la dernière édition contre l’Algérie (0-1), le Sénégal, qui figure toujours parmi les grands favoris, avait à cœur de réussir son entrée en Coupe d’Afrique des Nations contre le Zimbabwe, qualifié pour la cinquième fois de son histoire. Pourtant, rien n’était simple pour les Lions de la Teranga, décimés par le Covid-19 et privés de 11 joueurs, dont Mendy et Koulibaly. Aliou Cissé, le sélectionneur, était contraint d’aligner Dieng, le troisième gardien. Les Parisiens A. Diallo, Gueye et la star Mané étaient alignés.
D’entrée, Sarr provoquait le danger et loupait le cadre de peu (2e), à l’instar de Baldé, qui manquait sa reprise après un bon travail de Mané (12e). L’ailier de Liverpool a d’ailleurs été l’élément le plus dangereux de ce début de partie pour les Lions et aurait même pu ouvrir le score après un bel enchainement sur son côté gauche, mais sa frappe n’a pas inquiété Mhari, le portier zimbabwéen (24e). Mais à part cela, les Sénégalais n’ont pas montré grand-chose en première période face à des Warriors très bien organisés défensivement.

Après la pause, le vice-champion d’Afrique démarrait timidement la partie et manquait clairement de rythme et de précision technique pour inquiéter un Zimbabwe toujours bien en place et désireux de piéger le Sénégal en contre-attaque. Sur ses seules occasions, les Lions manquaient encore le cadre à l’image d’A. Diallo, dont la tête fuyait le cadre (69e). En fin de match, le Sénégal avait pourtant l’occasion de faire la différence, mais H. Diallo manquait son centre vers Mané, seul au second poteau (77e).
Et alors qu’on se dirigeait vers un score nul et vierge, Madzongwe était coupable d’une main dans sa propre surface et offrait un penalty dans les derniers instants pour le Sénégal… et transformé par Mané ! (1-0, 90e+6). Après une partie tout de même décevante, le Sénégal entame donc sa campagne par un succès inespéré, avant la réception de la Guinée, qui sera opposée au Malawi ce lundi (17h), lors de la deuxième journée. Le Zimbabwe affrontera Les Flammes, dans la suite du groupe B.
