Djiby Diaby, coordonnateur du mouvement souligne que le directeur général de la Somiva avait promis de verser aux populations impactées chaque année 655 millions de francs CFA, une promesse jamais honorée. L’État du Sénégal aussi n’a pas respecté ses engagements. Il tarde toujours à verser les 20 % des recettes qu’il reçoit de ces entreprises de mines destinées aux collectivités territoriales concernées.
