Deux Soldats Français Tués Au Mali Lors D’Une Opération Dans Le Nord

Deux soldats français ont perdu la vie, samedi 5 septembre, lors d’une opération dans la région de Tessalit dans le nord du Mali. Les deux militaires sont morts après la destruction de leur véhicule blindé par un engin explosif improvisé, a annoncé l’Élysée dans un communiqué. Un troisième soldat a été blessé dans l’attaque.

« Le Président Français Emmanuel Macron s’est incliné avec un profond respect devant le sacrifice de ces soldats du 1er régiment de hussards parachutistes de Tarbes, morts pour la France dans l’accomplissement de leur mission contre le terrorisme au Sahel », a ajouté l’Elysée qui, à la demande de la famille, n’a pas publié le nom de l’un des deux militaires tués.

L’opération Barkhane compte autour de 5.100 soldats. Au total, 45 soldats français, en comptant les deux militaires tués samedi, sont morts au combat dans les opérations Serval (2013) et Barkhane (depuis 2014), selon l’état-major. Un décompte qui n’intègre pas les accidents.

Exprimant ses « très sincères condoléances à leurs familles, à leurs proches et à tous leurs frères d’armes », Macron a de nouveau appelé « à la mise en place sans délai d’une transition politique civile au Mali, conformément aux attentes de son peuple, de l’ensemble des pays qui le soutiennent, et condition sine qua none d’une lutte efficace contre les terroristes ».
