Grâce aux investissements consentis par les acteurs de l’ordre de plusieurs centaines de milliards Fcfa, l’autosuffisance du Sénégal en poulets et œufs de consommation est devenue une réalité.
L’année 2021 marqué par la pandémie de la Covid-19 a considérablement perturbé tous les segments de la chaîne de valeurs avicole au Sénégal et a profondément dévasté le segment de la production dont ses effets continuent à se faire sentir sur le marché des poulets et des œufs de consommation.
Les effets de la Covid-19 perdurent en 2021, dans des proportions certes moindres, avec entres autres conséquences, la fermeture de couvoirs et une baisse sensible de la disponibilité en poussins et des activités de plusieurs exploitations. Au regard des enjeux actuels de relance de notre économie et de création d’emplois pour les jeunes, l’Ipas en partenariat avec les autorités du pays ministères en charge de l’Élevage et du Commerce a travaillé sur un plan de relance de la filière avicole sénégalaise (pravis) dont la mise en œuvre apportera des réponses structurelles pour une aviculture résiliente et compétitive. Au demeurant, pour cette période de ramadan-Korité, l’approvisionnement convenable du marché́ en poulets a pu être assuré durant le mois béni de ramadan grâce aux efforts soutenus des acteurs.
Il en sera ainsi pour la Korité, même si une légère tension sur l’offre de poulets sur le marché pourra être notée. L’Ipas renouvelle son engagement à assurer aux sénégalais des produits avicoles de qualité.
