« Si le suicide n’est pas confirmé, ce décès vient allonger la liste des personnes qui ont perdu la vie dans les mêmes conditions et surtout mettrait en cause la responsabilité directes des autorités policières. Qui, dans de telles circonstances, non seulement ont l’obligation de surveiller de manière appropriée la personne arrêtée, mais aussi et surtout, le devoir de lui permettre d’accéder directement et régulièrement à un personnel médical et à un avocat de son choix sans oublier le contact régulier avec les membres de sa famille », précise son Secrétaire général, Sadikh Niass
Face à « une mort plus que suspecte », le défenseur des droits de l’homme actionne le procureur de la République pour l’ouverture d’une enquête « immédiate » pour élucider les circonstances du décès et d’en tirer les conséquences de droit.
La RADDHO espère, par ailleurs, que les résultats de l’enquête couplée avec celle de l’autopsie permettront de « situer les responsabilités » et au besoin « d’identifier et punir conformément à la loi d’éventuelles personnes impliquées dans cette mort ».
