A peine arrivé au Haut Commandement de la Gendarmerie nationale, le général de Division Moussa Fall campe le décor. Nommé par Macky Sall il y a quelques jours à la place du Général Jean Baptiste Tine, il a lancé une opération de sécurisation à Keur Massar et ses environs, ratissant toute cette banlieue réputée très dangereuse.
D’après les informations émanant de la Gendarmerie, l’opération a été menée dans la nuit du samedi 19 au dimanche 20 juin par plus de 300 agents. Cette opération de sécurisation de la légion de gendarmerie ouest a permis de mettre la main sur plusieurs bandes de malfrats dans les secteurs de Keur Massar, Mbao et Tivaouane Peul.
Les pandores avaient pour objectifs de mettre fin aux agissements des bandes criminelles qui perpétraient des atteintes contre les personnes et les biens afin de rétablir le sentiment de sécurité. Mais aussi, de renforcer la confiance des populations dans l’action de la gendarmerie en les incitant à collaborer plus dans le domaine du renseignement et la transmission de l’alerte.
Au terme de l’opération, 14 personnes réunies en bande organisées ont été arrêtées pour association de malfaiteurs, trafic de chanvre indien ; 12 kilogrammes de chanvre indien ont été saisis ; 357.000 Fcfa saisis au titre des produits issus de la vente de drogue ainsi que 5 armes blanches.
«Au-delà des chiffres évoqués ci-dessus, le bilan de cette opération est aussi moral, dans la mesure où l’intervention des gendarmes a été accueilli avec enthousiasme par la partie saine de la population dont il y a lieu de magnifier la franche collaboration qui a permis en grande partie de démanteler le vaste trafic de chanvre indien mené tout particulièrement à l’unité 11 des parcelles assainies de Keur Massar dont les auteurs avaient instauré une loi de l’omerta par la terreur en menaçant l’intégrité physique de ceux qui tenteraient de les dénoncer», se réjouit la gendarmerie.
