Le président de l’Union des magistrats du Sénégal (UMS), Souleymane Teliko sera entendu aujourd’hui mercredi, 28 octobre, à 11 heures, dans le cadre de la procédure de sanction disciplinaire enclenchée par le ministère de la justice. Il fera face au Procureur général près la Cour d’appel de Ziguinchor, Assane Ndiaye, désigné comme rapporteur.
Pour rappel, Cette audition du président de l’UMS prévue à la Cour suprême de Dakar, fait suite à « des propos qu’il aurait tenus lors d’une interview parue dans la presse ».
Lors de cette interview, le juge prenait la défense de son collègue, Ngor Diop, suite à son affectation à la Cour d’appel de Thiès, dénonçant le manque de garanties d’indépendance du juge sénégalais, et l’immixtion de l’Exécutif dans la gestion des carrières des magistrats.
Selon certains observateurs avisés, cette audition risque de ne pas se dérouler tranquillement car les magistrats ont fini de battre le rappel des troupes, mobilisés pour apporter leur soutien à Teliko. En plus des avocats dont Mes Ciré Clédor LY, Demba Ciré Bathily et Seydou Diagne, le magistrat se fera également assister par ses collègues.
