Le leader de la coalition Taxawu Senegaal n’est pas dans la dynamique de soutenir son fidèle lieutenant, Barthélémy Dias qui a déclaré sa candidature à la course de la ville de Dakar pour les locales prochaines. Il l’a signifié à ses partisans qui lui ont rendu visite pour qu’il donne sa position sur les candidatures.
« Je ne désignerai personne », leur a-t-il répondu sur un ton très courtois mais ferme, selon L’Observateur qui rapporte ses propos.
L’ex-maire de Dakar a tenu à souligner que les déclarations de candidature dont celle du maire de Mermoz Sacré-Cœur lui fait « plaisir ». « Certes, je ne suis pas gêné par les déclarations de candidature des uns et des autres. Cela me fait plaisir que des jeunes aient envie de continuer à se battre pour Dakar et ses populations», a-t-il soutenu.
Mais, a-t-il précisé, « On ne m’entendra jamais intervenir dans le débat interne des communes comme le débat interne concernant la mairie de Dakar. Parce que le débat ne concerne pas seulement Taxawu Senegaal, mais tous ceux qui voudront se battre avec nous. Seulement, un combat, pour être efficace, est organisé, sinon on le perd ».
Poursuivant, il a ajouté, « C’est dans l’unité, la concertation, l’inclusion, le consensus qu’il faudra travailler pour faire émerger un candidat consensuel. La même démarche pour la ville vaut pour chaque commune. Parce que, dans chaque commune, on aura plusieurs candidats ».
Khalifa Ababacar Sall pense, cependant, savoir ce qui est à l’origine de ce Tohu-Bohu autour des candidatures. « Ma conviction est que c’est le mode de désignation du maire, qui est désormais élu au suffrage direct, qui est la source de toutes ces difficultés. Avant, c’étaient des listes et on avait moins de soucis avec cela. Je crois même que Macky Sall regrette cela, parce que toutes les coalitions vont imploser, en tout cas celles qui n’auront pas discuté pour trouver un consensus ou des compromis », a-t-il conclu.
