La victoire des Lions de la Teranga et du Sénégal au Cameroun a créé de très forts moments de liesse permettant à tout un peuple de vivre une joie unique. Tout le pays était en effervescence depuis le coup de sifflet final lors du match opposant le Sénégal à l’Égypte. Un duel de gladiateurs qui s’est soldé par la victoire, aux tirs au but, à la suite d’un succulent nul vierge. Ce succès, attendu depuis des décennies, créa une euphorie sans précédent obligeant même le Président de la République à d’abord écourter son séjour à l’étranger mais aussi à décréter le lundi 07/02/2022 jour « férié, chômé et payé » afin de préparer l’accueil de ces « Jambaar » . Par la suite, ce « trophée unificateur » a réussi un acte symbolique en mettant dans une même salle le Pouvoir et l’Opposition. Tous, hormis ceux qui s’étaient excusés, étaient là pour montrer que le Sénégal est « UN PEUPLE, UN BUT, UNE FOI ».Voilà un vrai exemple de patriotisme et de dépassement des clivages. Ainsi, cette première étoile sur nos maillots réussit à raffermir les liens et à « rapprocher » des leaders politiques qui ne s’étaient pas vus depuis très longtemps. Un acte de haute facture et très beau à voir puisque ces responsables politiques, à travers leur présence, ont pu montrer que seules les visions politiques les séparent mais ils partagent le même amour pour le pays de Teranga. Nous disons félicitations au groupe à Sadio Mané qui a réussi à hisser le Sénégal sur le toit de l’Afrique.
Par la même occasion, cet exploit des Lions du Sénégal m’a permis de poser quelques questions par rapport aux enseignements que nous pouvons en tirer. Pour y arriver, nous nous sommes inspiré du KHOUTBA (que j’ai beaucoup apprécié) d’Oustaz Mor Kébé du 11/02/2022 qui portait principalement sur le thème suivant « Coupe d’Afrique : réflexions et enseignements ». Dans son sermon, Oustaz Kébé, se servant de cette victoire des « Gaynde du Sénégal », est revenu sur plusieurs questionnements qui méritent de profondes réflexions.
Première question
Pour former une équipe nationale, le sélectionneur national essaie de faire un bon triage des joueurs professionnels nationaux ou binationaux en activité partout dans le monde. Aucun choix n’est réalisé sur la base d’une quelconque parenté ou affinité avec le sélectionneur ; tout est alors régi par des règles relatives au mérite, à l’excellence et à l’esprit de combativité. Mais la question que nous pouvons nous poser est de savoir si lors des différents choix à des postes de responsabilité, ces critères d’excellence et de mérite sont généralement pris en compte. Les appels d’offres, les passations de marchés sont-ils réalisés de façon efficiente ? Est-ce qu’on met en avant « l’homme qu’il faut à la place qu’il faut ? »
Deuxième question
Ces joueurs sélectionnés ne sont pourtant jamais à l’abri car leur maintien en équipe nationale dépend souvent de leurs performances (discipline, patriotisme, esprit de combativité, rendement sur le terrain…). Souvent, le public lui-même, faisant partie du film, participe au débat en recommandant un joueur au détriment d’un autre : « Que celui-là reste sur le banc » ! Nous nous demandons si ceux à qui on a assigné des missions républicaines sont régis par les mêmes règles. S’ils n’arrivent pas à remplir correctement leurs missions, doivent-ils attendre qu’on le leur dise ? Ne devraient-ils pas, d’eux-mêmes, passer le flambeau à d’autres plus méritants ?
Troisième question
En sélectionnant l’équipe nationale, l’avons-nous fait sur la base de critères ethniques, linguistiques ou confrériques, non ! Avant le tri, le ratissage a été très large, ouvert et était destiné à tous les joueurs professionnels performants en activité. Nous nous demandons si cette objectivité est respectée lors des différentes nominations. Pourtant ce qu’on attend de ces détenteurs de postes de responsabilité n’est pas moins important que ce nous nous espérons de l’équipe nationale !
Quatrième question
Ceux qui ont remporté ce trophée sont tous des jeunes. Pourtant il y a de grands joueurs célèbres mais qui ne sont plus compétitifs. C’est pourquoi le sélectionneur a préféré donner une chance aux jeunes plus combatifs et plus vifs. Avec eux, il y a forte chance de gagner quelque chose. Est-ce que cela ne veut pas dire que lors de nos choix, certaines considérations éliminant d’office d’excellents jeunes pour mettre à la place de vieilles personnes, ne doivent être révolues ? Au lieu de nommer ou de choisir des personnes très âgées et qui auront des difficultés à remplir leurs missions, ne faudraitil pas responsabiliser ces jeunes diplômés et disponibles à servir leur pays ?
Cinquième question
Dans cette coupe d’Afrique, nous constatons que lors des premiers matchs, le jeu de l’équipe du Sénégal n’était pas aussi convaincant. Mais au fur et à mesure, les lions de la Teranga avaient retrouvé leurs marques. Ainsi, avec une patience sans sa faille et un mental de fer, Sadio Mané et ses coéquipiers ont réussi à remporter la finale contre l’Égypte dans un match où vraiment le sang froid de ces « gaynde » s’est fait remarquer. Cette patience des lions de la Teranga ne recommande-t-elle pas à nos jeunes d’être plus endurants et persévérants afin d’entreprendre et peut-être de ne pas tout attendre de l’État ?
Sixième question
Nous savons tous que cette victoire a été le fruit de tout un groupe. Il est clair qu’un seul joueur, à lui seul, quelle que soit sa maîtrise du ballon, ne pouvait pas faire grandchose. C’est la symbiose des différents efforts d’un État (par son Gouvernement) à travers la fédération de football, les choix fructueux d’un sélectionneur et la détermination de tout un peuple à travers ses prières et autres soutiens, qui ont abouti à cette joie commune. Mais est-ce que cette entraide se vit-elle quotidiennement dans notre société ?
Septième question
Presque tous les joueurs sélectionnés évoluent dans de très bons clubs et vivent dans de très bonnes conditions. Et comme nous l’avons précisé, c’est grâce à leurs bonnes performances qu’on les a sélectionnés. Qu’en est-il des étudiants qui, ayant terminé leurs études à l’étranger, aimeraient venir travailler pour le Sénégal ? Subissent-ils le même traitement que ces joueurs ? Pourtant ils ont la même volonté : servir le Sénégal. Mais comment se fait-il que souvent ces étudiants, une fois au bercail, peinent à trouver un emploi alors qu’ils voulaient seulement partager leurs compétences ?
