La prise d’otage de nos Jàmbaars par des rebelles du mouvement des forces démocratiques de la Casamance Mfdc continue de susciter des réactions au sein de la classe politique sénégalaise. Dans un communiqué reçu par sunupost.com ce dimanche 13 février 2022, la République des Valeurs appelle à l’unité et à la solidarité autour de ses militaires détenus par le Mfdc.
« Le 24 janvier dernier, quatre de nos militaires tombaient dans l’exercice de leur mission, sur l’axe Kampanti-Kappa-Kambagol, en Gambie, à la suite d’une attaque perpétrée par des assaillants se réclamant du Mouvement des Forces Démocratiques de Casamance. Sept autres d’entre eux sont actuellement détenus en otage. En exhibant nos Jàmbaars en détention dans une mise en scène sinistre, comme des trophées de guerre, Salif Sadio et ses hommes ont montré une fois de plus qu’ils sont à la marge de toutes les règles établies. Ils violent le droit international, la dignité humaine et bafouent les principes des civilisations africaines, sans état d’âme. Nous le condamnons avec la dernière énergie.
Dans le même temps, le peuple sénégalais dans toute sa diversité vient de témoigner de son attachement à l’unité de la nation, lors de la victoire de l’équipe nationale de football à la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations. Cette unité manifestée doit être renouvelée autour de nos forces de défense et de sécurité, qui se dévouent au quotidien face aux enjeux fondamentaux que sont la défense de la patrie, la sécurité nationale et l’intégrité du territoire.
À l’heure où pèsent des menaces de déstabilisation dans plusieurs pays de la sous-région, la souveraineté de notre pays doit demeurer une préoccupation majeure. Cela commence par la reconnaissance des efforts immenses fournis par nos soldats pour pacifier la région. Nous devons, plus que jamais, être conscients de l’engagement des forces de défense et de sécurité, prêtes à sacrifier leur vie, au nom de la patrie.
La nation doit se mobiliser pour ne pas oublier les Jàmbaars. La République des Valeurs/Réewum Ngor exhorte les autorités à explorer toutes les possibilités afin d’obtenir la libération immédiate, et sans conditions, de nos soldats retenus actuellement en otage, mais plus largement pour mettre fin à ce conflit, qui n’a que trop duré.

Selon certaines sources proches du dossier les 7 soldats seront libérés ce lundi 14 février 2022.
