Selon nos confrères de Saharamédias, l’ex-président Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz a été libéré dans la nuit de dimanche à lundi, après une semaine d’arrestation.
Selon une source sécuritaire, l’ancien président mauritanien Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz a été entendu cette semaine par la police pour répondre à de «fortes présomptions de mauvaise gouvernance et de détournements de biens publics».
L’ex-président Aziz avait ignoré début juillet une convocation de la commission parlementaire. Les députés ont ensuite voté fin juillet une loi instituant une Haute cour de justice, compétente pour juger le chef de l’Etat et les ministres en cas de «haute trahison».
Parmi les dossiers étudiés par la commission parlementaire figurent la gestion des revenus pétroliers, la vente de domaines de l’État à Nouakchott, la liquidation d’une société publique qui assurait l’approvisionnement en denrées alimentaires ou encore les activités d’une société chinoise de pêche, Pully Hong Dong, selon des sources parlementaires.
L’avocat français David Rajjou avait qualifié l’arrestation de l’ancien président mauritanien Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz par la police depuis lundi soir dernier d’ « illégale » et avait exigé sa libération immédiate, avant ce mardi 25 août.
