Journaliste et écrivain, Marcel Mendy est décédé ce jeudi, à Dakar. Le doyen a rendu l’âme chez lui, après une détresse respiratoire avant son évacuation à l’hôpital, suite à une contamination au covid-19.
M. Mendy a collaboré, dans sa carrière de journaliste, à plusieurs publications au Sénégal et en France.
L’ancien coordonnateur des Chambres africaines extraordinaires (Cae) a aussi embrassé la carrière d’écrivain en 1995, en publiant une biographie en deux tomes du président de la République, Me Abdoulaye Wade.
Il est aussi l’auteur du livre : “Affaire Habré : Entre silences, ombres et non-dits”. Son dernier essai porte sur la violence politique au Sénégal, 1960-2003.
