Eliminatoires Coupe Du Monde 2022 : Le Sénégal Ne Recevra Pas À Domicile

Le stade de Lat Dior de Thiès est exclu des stades approuvés par la Confédération africaine de football (CAF) pour abriter les matchs des deux premières journées des éliminatoires de la Coupe du monde 2022 en juin, a appris l’APS.

L’infrastructure sportive qui ne disposait que d’une homologation provisoire de la CAF, servait de base de repli pour les matchs de l’équipe nationale et des clubs sénégalais évoluant en compétitions Interclubs.

Par conséquent, le Sénégal serait obligé de se rabattre sur une autre pelouse contre le Togo, comptant pour le premier tour éliminatoire de la Coupe du monde 2022.

A la suspension du stade Léopold Sédar Senghor après des incidents intervenus lors du match contre la Côte d’Ivoire en éliminatoire de la CAN 2013, le Sénégal avait décidé de jouer dans un premier temps à Conakry (Guinée) avant de choisir le Maroc.

Les Lions ont joué contre les Cranes de l’Ouganda à Marrakech (1-0) et contre la Côte d’Ivoire à Casablanca (1-1).

Par contre, les deux adversaires de poule du Sénégal à savoir le Togo et le Congo, en éliminatoires de la Coupe du monde, joueront à domicile respectivement au stade Kégué et au stade Massamba Débat.

C’est dans cette dernière infrastructure où les Lions avaient joué contre les Diables Rouges en mars dernier lors de la 5-ème journée des éliminatoires de la CAN 2021.

L’autre équipe de la poule, la Namibie qui doit recevoir pour la première journée le Congo, sera obligée de trouver un stade de repli, son stade étant suspendu parce que ne répondant pas aux normes.
