Bonne nouvelle pour les ménages. Après la mise en marche de ses conduites, l’usine de Keur Momar Sarr (KMS) 3 sera inaugurée. La cérémonie sera présidée par le chef de l’État, Macky Sall, samedi prochain, 10 juillet.
Prévenir un déficit de 200 000 m3, par jour
Les travaux lancés en 2017, cette 3e usine d’eau devrait régler les difficultés d’approvisionnement en liquide précieux de la capitale sénégalaise et sa banlieue ainsi que Thiès.
En effet, l’usine, tirée à partir du Lac de Guiers, aura une capacité de production journalière de 200 000 m3 d’eau. KMS3, à Louga, est une usine qui comprend une station de pompage, de traitement, des bassins et des dispositifs hydrauliques qui vont assurer le transport de l’eau. Si elle est réalisé, les populations de la région de Dakar et environ ne devraient plus avoir de problèmes de pression d’eau ou de coupures, selon les responsables de la Société nationale des eaux du Sénégal (SONES).
Il y a également la diversification des sources d’eau potable, à travers le dessalement de l’eau de mer. Le projet d’usine aux Mamelles répond à cet impératif.
