Notre pays se dirige vers les élections locales du 23 janvier 2022 mais j’ai l’impression que les vrais enjeux de ces élections ne sont pas tout à fait maitrisés, ou sont minimisés, par le commun des mortels sénégalais.
Au moment où les listes ne sont pas encore déposées nous assistons, d’une part, au réveil des vieux démons de la violence électorale, entre potentiels candidats et/ou supporters de potentiels candidats.
Nous voyons, d’autre part, une propagande politique indigne et irrespectueuse des valeurs de la République. Des candidats briguant le suffrage de nos compatriotes allant jusqu’à offrir d’une manière ostentatoire des fournitures scolaires à leur effigie. Quelle indignité !
Décidemment, dans notre pays le ridicule ne tue pas !
Jusqu’où irons-nous dans ce pays ? Les gens n’ont plus de limites dans l’exagération immorale. L’École, ce temple du savoir, doit être sacralisée et épargnée de toutes ces querelles de coqs entre chapelles politiques.
Il est temps que nous revenions aux fondamentaux, aux choses sérieuses.
Il s’agit de « gérer la cité » au sens noble du terme. Être Maire engage de grandes responsabilités vis-à-vis de ses administrés. Il faille savoir que le quotidien de nos compatriotes se joue au plus près de leurs habitations ; leurs destins peuvent être changés par la mise en place de politiques publiques rigoureuses et sérieuses, au niveau local.
C’est pourquoi j’en appelle au sursaut patriotique. À tous les Sénégalais, nous devons mesurer la portée de notre vote lors de ces élections locales. Il faut que nous mettions à la tête de nos exécutifs locaux – nos communes, nos villes, nos départements – des personnes à la hauteur des enjeux et à la moralité irréprochable.
Des personnes capables de comprendre les défis de notre siècle, auxquels nous faisons face.
Je pense à la transition écologique, à l’enjeu environnemental, au changement climatique et à la préservation de la biodiversité.
Je pense à notre habitat, notre foncier dilapidé dans tous les coins du pays, à notre urbanisme à réinventer dans son entièreté.
Je pense à notre économie locale où le besoin d’ériger de grandes unités d’industrialisation et de transformation de nos matières premières est sans équivoque.
Je pense à notre jeunesse livrée à elle-même, à qui, nous devons une éducation et un emploi digne, qui permet de croire de nouveau en nos possibilités, pour freiner le « Barça wala baarsax ».
Je pense à notre système de santé. Si besoin en était, la crise sanitaire nous a montré combien notre système est précaire, combien les élus locaux sont absents dans les décisions qui impactent la santé de leurs administrés.
Je pense à notre démocratie participative, à notre politique sociale et culturelle.
Je pense à tous les pans de notre société sur lesquels l’intervention d’un élu local peut transformer le vécu de nos concitoyens de la plus belle des manières.
Je le disais tantôt, une élection locale est une affaire sérieuse. Refusons le folklore, mettons en face de nous les listes proposées et posons le doigt sur les programmes. Ne suivons pas la vague, qui veut faire de nous un simple bétail électoral qui n’a rien compris à ce qui se trame.
Mesurons par nous nous-même, prenons le temps de de nous enquérir des choses, projet contre projet.
Ne sacrifions pas notre vote, ne nous trompons pas sur les listes en compétition, car le mandant dure 5 ans. Et 5 ans ce n’est pas rien dans une vie. Comme l’a théorisé Goethe dans son roman les affinités électives : “Un grand sacrifice est aisé, mais ce sont les petits sacrifices continuels qui sont durs.”
Quand je dis cela, je pense bien évidemment à Thierno Alassane Sall, qui incarne notre projet, lui qui a toutes les qualités requises pour être porté à la tête de la belle et résistante ville de Thiès. Cette ville dont il disait lors de sa déclaration de candidature, je le cite : « Cette ville m’a vu grandir. C’est ici que j’ai été à l’école. Je n’ai jamais rompu le cordon ombilical avec Thiès. À chaque rue me lie des souvenirs, heureux ou malheureux. Bien des maisons, bien des visages me sont familiers. »
Je pense à tous nos candidats de la République des Valeurs/Réewum Ngor, eux qui ont nos principes sociétaux de Ngor, Fit, Jom, Fula, Fayda, chevillés au corps ; eux qui méritent d’être portés à la tête de nos exécutifs locaux, pour apporter un nouveau souffle dans la gestion de nos localités. Eux qui concourent au suffrage de nos concitoyens, de Moudéry aux HLM, de Mbane à Malem Hodar, de Mermoz-Sacré Coeur à Bambaly, de Diaoubé à Sagatta Jolof, de Pout à Bakel, de Makacolibantang à Yeumbeul-Nord. Dans les 46 départements de notre pays.
