« Les morts ne sont pas identifiés, ils sont tous calcinés », a déclaré lors d’un point presse Awa Fonka Augustine, gouverneur de la région de l’Ouest, évoquant également 29 blessés « très graves avec des brûlures ». Le gouverneur a ajouté que la collision pouvait « être dû au brouillard » et que la camionnette avait « un défaut de freinage », selon les premiers constats.
