Le verdict vient de tomber sur l’affaire Lamine Diack à l’IAAF. L’ancien chef de l’instance dirigeante de l’athlétisme mondial, a été condamné mercredi en France pour corruption dans un scandale de dopage russe.
Lamine Diack, 87 ans, a été reconnu coupable d’avoir accepté des pots-de-vin d’athlètes soupçonnés de dopage, pour dissimuler les résultats des tests et les laisser continuer à concourir, y compris aux Jeux olympiques de Londres de 2012.
Le tribunal a également déclaré Diack coupable d’avoir accepté de l’argent russe pour aider à financer la campagne de Macky Sall pour l’élection présidentielle sénégalaise de 2012, en échange d’un ralentissement des procédures antidopage.
Il a été condamné mercredi à quatre ans de prison dont deux avec sursis et 500.000 euros d’amende (environ 329 millions Franc FCFA) pour corruption par la justice française. Le verdict a été annoncé ce mercredi, devant Lamine Diack, qui est arrivé au tribunal accompagné de ses deux avocats, Mes Simon Ndiaye et François Bourdon, selon la presse étrangère.
