Le journaliste Cheikh Yérim Seck, placé en garde à en vue après son audition à la Brigade de recherches de Dakar, est acheminé à la gendarmerie de Thiong où il devra passer la nuit. Selon Libération online qui donne l’information, un compte rendu a été fait au procureur de la République qui a ordonné le placement en garde à vue du journaliste, pour diffusion de fausses nouvelles, diffamation contre la gendarmerie, entre autres. Et le journaliste sera déféré au parquet, demain, à moins d’un rebondissement spectaculaire. Au cours de son audition à la gendarmerie, toutes les questions posées au journaliste tournaient autour d’un seul point : sa déclaration télévisée estimant que 4 milliards de francs CFA auraient été saisis dans l’affaire Batiplus par les gendarmes, mais seule une partie aurait été consignée. Prié de s’expliquer, Cheikh Yérim Seck a persisté dans ses déclarations, indiquant toutefois qu’il ne pourrait pas dévoiler ses sources. Il s’en est suivi un jeu de ping-pong entre lui et les enquêteurs qui réclamaient une preuve attestant cette déclaration, selon toujours notre confrère.
