‘’La discipline sera une sorte de contrat social entre le khalife que je suis et les jeunes disciples que vous êtes. Si vous vous illustrez de belle manière dans ce domaine, ce sera bénéfique pour tous. Au cas contraire, je risque de démissionner’’, a-t-il dit sur le ton de la plaisanterie.
‘’Les disciples sont souvent prompts à rouspéter quand le président de la République ne vient pas dans la cité religieuse dans des circonstances pareilles. Mais il faut se soucier d’abord de votre propre discipline. Il y va de l’image de Médina Baye’’, a commenté Cheikh Mahy Ibrahima Niass.
S’adressant pour la première fois aux disciples de Médina Baye après avoir été désigné pour la succession du défunt Cheikh Ahmad Tidiane Ibrahima Niass, il a menacé de se démettre de sa charge spirituelle si les jeunes disciples ne font pas preuve de discipline.
‘’De façon générale, il y a un manque de discipline notoire. Cet état de fait regrettable est entretenu par les jeunes. Il faut dire les choses comme elles sont’’, a soutenu le nouveau khalife de Médina Baye, une cité de la ville de Kaolack peuplée de nombreux disciples de la tidjaniya.
Il a succédé à Cheikh Ahmad Tidiane Ibrahima Niass, décédé des suites d’une courte maladie, dimanche à Dakar, à l’âge de 88 ans.
Le défunt sera inhumé jeudi à 17 heures, à Médina Baye, en présence de nombreux fidèles musulmans du Sénégal et d’autres pays.
Le président de la République se rendra à Médina Baye, samedi, pour présenter ses condoléances à la famille de Cheikh Ibrahima Niass dit Baye Niass (1900-1975), fondateur de cette cité musulmane de la ville de Kaolack dans les années 1930.
Le nouveau khalife de Médina Baye, le cinquième depuis le rappel à Dieu de Baye Niass en 1975, a lancé un appel à la prévention du Covid-19. ‘’Nous devons faire preuve de discipline dans ce contexte de pandémie de Covid-19. Nous devons respecter les mesures de protection édictées par les autorités sanitaires’’, a lancé Cheikh Mahy Ibrahima Niass.
Il a invité ses disciples à respecter rigoureusement les gestes barrières contre le Covid-19.
Cheikh Mahy Ibrahima Niass, âgé de 82 ans, est le fils de Cheikha Astou Sarr et de Cheikh Ibrahima Niass. Son franc-parler, son sens de l’humour, son esprit d’ouverture, son commerce facile et une vaste culture générale font sa réputation.
