La Communauté économique des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (Cedeao) a vite réagi suite aux tensions qui se sont soulevées, ce mardi 18 août à Bamako.
Dans un communiqué rendu public, l’institution, qui fait constater que cette mutinerie est déclenchée dans un contexte sociopolitique déjà très complexe, a appelé les militaires «à regagner sans délai leurs casernes, en demandant à toutes les parties prenantes maliennes de privilégier le dialogue pour résoudre la crise que traverse leur pays».Rappelant «sa ferme opposition à tout changement politique anticonstitutionnel et invitant les militaires à demeurer dans une posture républicaine», la Cedeao dit entreprendre des initiatives et déploie des efforts de médiation entre toutes les parties maliennes.«En tout état de cause, elle condamne vigoureusement la tentative en cours et prendra toutes les mesures et actions nécessaires à la restauration de l’ordre constitutionnel, par le rétablissement des institutions démocratiquement élues, conformément aux dispositions de son protocole additionnel sur la bonne gouvernance et la démocratie», lit-on dans ce communiqué.
«Par ailleurs, relève la même source, la Cedeao réitère sa disponibilité, en rapport avec les Nations unies, l’Union africaine, l’Union européenne et tous les partenaires multilatéraux et bilatéraux du Mali, de continuer à accompagner les parties prenantes maliennes dans leurs efforts pour résoudre la crise».
