« 84 migrants ont été secourus et 43 autres ont disparu après qu’un bateau transportant 127 migrants a coulé au large de Zarzis« , ville du sud-est de la Tunisie, dans la nuit de vendredi à samedi, a déclaré à l’AFP le directeur de l’antenne du Croissant-Rouge à Médenine (sud-est), Mongi Slim.
Selon des témoignages de rescapés recueillis par l’organisation humanitaire, le navire était parti un peu plus tôt des côtes libyennes, à Zouara, « dans la nuit du 28 au 29 juin », avec pour objectif de rejoindre l’Europe.
De son côté, le ministère tunisien de la Défense a indiqué, samedi, dans un communiqué, que la Marine avait sauvé, dans la nuit de vendredi à samedi, « 84 immigrés clandestins de différentes nationalités », citant le Bangladesh, le Soudan, l’Érythrée, l’Égypte et le Tchad, sans préciser le nombre de morts
