Le ministre de l’Intérieur, Antoine Félix Abdoulaye Diome a présidé, ce jeudi, la cérémonie d’installation du nouveau Directeur général de la Police nationale, en l’occurrence, l’Inspecteur général de Police, Seydou Bocar Yague. Ce dernier a remplacé à ce poste l’Inspecteur général de Police Ousmane Sy.
Le nouveau Directeur général, après avoir remercié le président de la République Macky Sall, qui lui a fait l’honneur de le porter à la tête de cette institution, a également remercié toute sa famille et prié pour sa défunte maman, décédée juste quelques jours avant sa nomination.
Il a, par ailleurs, rendu un hommage appuyé à son prédécesseur avec qui, il a cheminé comme Directeur général adjoint de la Police.
Une occasion pour lui, de saluer les avancées notées dans le cadre de la montée en puissance de la Police nationale sous son magistère.
Yague a exhorté l’ensemble des fonctionnaires de cette institution, à s’inscrire dans la même dynamique et à continuer de servir la nation sénégalaise conformément à la devise de la Police nationale « Dans l’honneur au service de la loi ».
Cette cérémonie, empreinte de solennité, a vu la participation de hautes autorités militaires, paramilitaires et civiles.
