La pandémie du Covid-19 se propage de plus en plus au Sénégal et touche plus de onze régions sur les quatorze que compte le pays. Les plus touchées sont Dakar et Diourbel, elles constituent des points focaux du Covid-19 si l’on se fie aux résultats des tests de positivité fournis par le ministère de la santé.
Ces nombres élevés de cas à Dakar et à Diourbel s’expliquent par des facteurs socio-démographiques et économiques des deux régions.
Dakar avec un point de 587 cas positifs, sur un total de 1329 ( point du jour 5 mai )soit 52% des cas déclaré sur l’ensemble du territoire national s’explique par sa place de capitale économique et administrative. Elle concentre près de 70% des activités économiques du pays, et abrite 25% de la population nationale, sur seulement une superficie équivalente à 3% du territoire national. Aujourd’hui plus de 174 cas sont confirmés à Dakar ouest, 135 à Dakar centre, 115 à Dakar Nord, et 173 à Dakar sud, et un nombre de cas communautaires d’au moins 36.
La région de Diourbel, quant à elle est considérée comme le poumon du bassin arachidier du Sénégal. La mobilité sociale y est très importante, surtout sur l’axe Touba-Mbacké. Ce mardi 5 Mai 2020 dix-neuf nouveaux cas de coronavirus ont été diagnostiqués à Touba et Mbacké, selon les autorités sanitaires de la région, et 47 cas de transmission communautaire.
La région de Dakar et celle de Diourbel sont devenues de grands pôles de contamination du Coronavirus. Une situation qui inquiète de plus en plus les autorités sanitaires.
En plus des mesures de ripostes anti-covid19 prises par l’État du Sénégal depuis deux mois, certains concitoyens réclament le confinement général de ces deux régions, qui selon eux constituent une menace nationale.
