La fièvre jaune refait son apparition dans la zone Sud-Est du Sénégal. Notamment dans les régions médicales de Tambacounda et de Kédougou où 08 cas ont été recensés avec 02 décès,un au district district sanitaire de Kidira et un autre à Tambacounda.
En effet, le premier décès est un jeune âgé de huit ans référé au centre de santé de Matam. Le second, âgé de 23 ans, est décédé à Tambacounda. Ainsi, même si la situation semble être maitrisée au niveau de ces zones, les autorités sanitaires se préparent pour éviter le pire.
La région de Kédougou et celle de Saraya sont les districts sanitaires le plus touchés. Car, en moins de quarante-huit heures, 04 cas de fièvre jaune y ont été recensés. Ces cas ont fini par installer la région médicale dans une situation d’épidémie, renseigne le médecin-chef du district sanitaire de Kédougou Fodé Danfakha.
« Dès qu’on enregistre un seul cas, on est en situation d’épidémie. Et on s’attend à d’autres cas. C’est la raison pour laquelle on doit organiser une riposte pour freiner la propagation de ces cas de fièvre de jaune », déclare-t-il.
Ainsi, une campagne de vaccination vient d’être initiée par la division de la prévention du ministère de la Santé et de l’action sociale par une formation des équipes cadres des régions médicales de Tambacounda et de Kédougou. Ce, en vue de l’organisation des campagnes de vaccination à l’échelle de tous les districts concernés.
