Afrique Du Sud : Le Ministre De la santé Zweli écarté par le président Ramaphosa

En Afrique du Sud, le ministre de la Santé Zweli Mkhize est dans la tourmente. Mis en congé spécial par le président Cyril Ramaphosa, pour des allégations de corruptions.

Deux de ses proches sont soupçonnés d’avoir touché d’énormes sommes d’argent dédiées à la lutte contre le covid-19. Tout comme eux 63 fonctionnaires sont visés par la même affaire transmise au procureur, de même que 87 entreprises inscrites sur une liste noire. Elles ne pourront plus décrocher de contrats publics. Il s’agit en tout de 11 millions de dollars portant sur les contrats entre le ministère de la Santé et un fournisseur de services, Digital Vibes.

« Mieux vaut tard que jamais. Et en effet, il n’est jamais trop tard pour faire ce qu’il faut. En tant que président, il aurait dû agir beaucoup plutôt, car il y avait beaucoup de choses dans l’espace public et suffisamment de preuves pour l’obliger à conseiller au ministre non pas de se retirer, mais au moins de se mettre à l’écart pendant que les choses se mettent en place » explique le professeur et analyste politique de l’Université d’Afrique du Sud, Teffo Lesiba.

Fin mai, des médias ont dévoilé que l’ex porte-parole de Zweli Mkhize, Tahera Mather, et son ancienne assistante personnelle, Naadhira Mitha, auraient touché des millions de rands en paiements irréguliers liés à un contrat de communication.

Elles auraient reçu cet argent au nom de la société de communication Digital Vibes, engagée par le ministère de la Santé pour travailler sur la communication publique sur le Covid-19 depuis mars 2020, bien qu’elles ne soient pas enregistrées comme dirigeantes de la société.

La ministre du Tourisme, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, assumera les fonctions de ministre de la Santé par intérim jusqu’à nouvel ordre, a précisé la présidence.
