Le Sénégal a battu l’Ouganda 93 à 55, ce mercredi, lors de son premier match de l’Afrobasket masculin qui se déroule à Kigali (Rwanda).
Pour son entrée en matière, la formation sénégalaise de Basketball faisait face à l’Ouganda ce mercredi au Rwanda, pays hôte de cette compétition. À l’arrivée : une victoire des Lions (93-55) qui leur permet de lancer la plus belle des manière cette compétition dont il font figure de favori.
L’équipe nationale du Sénégal a marché sur la modeste équipe Ougandaise trop faible défensivement. Contrairement aux équipiers de Gorgui Sy Dieng qui ont maintenu le rythme en attaque et s’appliquent en défense. Même si le score était un tout petit peu serré au début, les Sénégalais ont su garder leur calme (21-14). Petit à petit en alternant bien le jeu à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur le Sénégal creuse l’écart pour devancer son adversaire sur le tableau d’affichage après la mi-temps (48-31).
Le tempo est élevé, les Ougandais sont maladroites et les joueurs sénégalais à l’image de Branco Badio s’éclatent. Dans le 3e quart temps, les coéquipiers de Youssoupha Ndoye creusent définitivement l’écart (68-40). Et dernier quart n’est qu’une formalité (93-55). Victorieuse pour leur première sortie, la troupe de Boniface Ngong peut aborder avec sérénité leur prochain match, prévu ce vendredi 27 Août face au Sud Soudan.
