Le Marché HLM vide à la veille de la Korite, le COVID19 Responsable

Le marché HLM qui grouille de monde à l’approche des fêtes de Korité et de Tabaski n’est pas à son affluence habituelle. Cette situation est dû évidemment au Covid-19 et aux mesures prises par les autorités sénégalaises pour contrecarrer la pandémie.

Les cris des marchands ambulants mêlés à la musique, armes pour attirer les clients, ne retentissent pas cette année dans ce fameux marché de la capitale Sénégalaise. Le bourdonnement des marchandages et les klaxons assourdissants des voitures restent muets à la veille de la Korité de cette année. Le décore habituel, une foule se bousculant pour se frayer un chemin entre des étagères et tables à pertes de vue, laisse place à un grand vide.

La clientèle, des femmes pour la plupart venant s’affairer en tissus, accessoires de beauté, cheveux naturels, ne se présente qu’à compte-gouttes. Laye Cisse vendeur de tissu nous confirme : »le coronavirus et la fermeture des marchés nous a causé d’énormes difficultés.  C’est un manque à gagner pour nous, la vente est à la modérée par rapport à l’année précédente à la même période où nous vendions jusque tard dans la nuit. Nous espérons que les clients viendront d’ici la veille de la fête, comme les sénégalais aiment faire.

Ndella vendeuse de greffage affirme les dires de son voisin :  » la pandémie qui sévit le pays fait que « Les Sénégalaises n’ont plus la tête à la fêtes, parce que les moyens ne sont plus là. La cherté de la vie, elle aussi, ne leur permet plus de fêter comme cela se faisait autrefois ». Selon Ndella « les affaires tournent lentement, les clients ne viennent pas en grand nombre depuis l’apparition de la pandémie en mars..

Habillée en boubou, masque au visage Mme Thiam une cliente venu pour préparer la Korité témoigne: « C’est la première fois que je vois le marché Hlm dans cette ambiance de quiétude sans ses marchands ambulants qui occupent ses artères. C’est l’effet du coronavirus, avec les cas communautaire les gens ont peur d’aller aux marchés. 

À quelques jours de la célébration de la Korité qui marque la fin du jeûne des musulmans, le marché des HLM tarde à renouer avec la frénésie marchande qu’il connaissait . Une situation qui s’explique par la présence du Covid-19 et les mesures prises par les autorités administratives selon les occupants du marché. La pandémie a assiégé l’économie formelle et informelle, une situation qui met dans la précarité des millions de sénégalais.
