Cette mesure dont l’objectif est d’empêcher « la triche » dans le déroulement de l’examen, est appliquée par les trois opérateurs de téléphonie mobile de la place, à savoir la MAURITEL (filiale de Maroc Télécom), CHINUITEL (filiale de la soudanaise EXPRESSO) et la Mauritano Tunisienne des Télécommunications (MATTEL- association entre Tunisie Télécom et des privés nationaux).
Cette situation porte un énorme préjudice à des centaines de milliers d’usagers, qui ne retrouvent la connexion que pendant la soirée, sauf pour quelques rares privilégiés.
Au plan économique, des pertes sont réelles pour certains secteurs, notamment dans l’informel, dont l’impact reste à évaluer.
