Officiel: Coupe Du Monde 2022: Les Matchs De qualification De La Zone Afrique Prévus En Juin Sont Reportés

L’accord entre la FIFA et la CAF est acté. Suite à la suspension de nombreux stades qui ne répondent pas aux normes internationales, les matchs de qualification prévus en juin de la zone Afrique pour la coupe du monde 2022 sont reportés.

L’instance mondiale l’a fait savoir à travers un communiqué publié ce jeudi matin.

« La FIFA peut confirmer qu’en collaboration avec la CAF et en tenant compte de la perturbation actuelle causée par la pandémie COVID-19 et de la nécessité d’assurer des conditions de jeu optimales pour toutes les équipes, il a été décidé de reporter les qualifications africaines pour la Coupe du Monde de la FIFA, Qatar 2022 qui devaient être joués en juin 2021 » informe la missive. Au total, la CAF a suspendu 21 stades.

Le Sénégal qui loge dans le groupe H avec le Togo, la Namibie et la RD Congo était dans l’obligation de trouver un stade pour accueillir le Togo en juin. Ce report est toutefois une bonne nouvelle pour la FSF qui pourra terminer le chantier du stade Lat Dior de Thies et peut-être avoir l’homologation définitive de l’infrastructure.

Suite au report, le calendrier des joutes est prévu comme suit « Les qualifications sont désormais prévues dans les fenêtres existantes de septembre, octobre et novembre 2021 et mars 2022 »
