Lettre de l’activiste Abdou K. Guèye, depuis sa cellule à Cap Manuel
À mes chers compatriotes,
Ce mercredi 13 Mai 2020 j’ai été condamné à une peine de 03 mois de prison ferme.
A ma grande surprise depuis ma cellule je reçois l’information selon laquelle : « Abdou Karim Gueye a demandé pardon au juge » ce qui n’est que diffamation à l’encontre de ma personne.
D’abord, avec humilité et respect j’ai répondu aux questions posées. Ensuite lorsque Monsieur le juge m’a dit que je ne connaissais ni le coran ni mon sujet et donc que je ferais mieux de me taire, je lui ai répondu que tous les droits m’y autorisaient car en tant que musulman j’ai le droit et le devoir de me battre pour la réouverture des mosquées et que même s’il me libère j’y retournerai avec la même ardeur. J’ai poursuivi en lui disant que moi Abdou Karim Gueye je n’ai jamais insulté une quelconque personne car les insultes ne font pas partie de mes principes.
Je prend le monde à témoin que je ne demande aucune faveur du gouvernement pour être libéré.
Cette condamnation est plus qu’arbitraire à l’encontre de ma personne.
Ayant une confiance aveugle en mes avocats, que je remercie au passage, je purge ma peine carcérale avec dignité, bravoure et une foi inflexible, invincible et inébranlable.
À tous ceux qui s’inquiètent pour mon état de santé, je vous rassure. Je me porte très bien, je ne me plains d’aucune douleur.
Je ne saurais terminer cette lettre sans parler des agents pénitentiaires qui vivent le martyr en cette période de covid 19. Ces derniers ont passé 03 mois à l’intérieur des prisons de Dakar sans femme ni enfants avec des salaires payés à moitié. Lorsqu’il reçoivent leurs «ndogou», ils le partagent avec les détenus, tout comme on partage de petits pains.
C’est pour ce genre d’injustice que l’on se bat et tous les agents pénitentiaires et policiers sont des frères pour lesquels nous ne resterons pas indifférents.
