Depuis près de trois ans (aout 2018), il faisait office de Directeur général adjoint de la Police.
Son ascension fait de lui la 2e autorité de la Police à passer de ce poste à la station majeure de la Direction générale, après Ousmane Sy qui avait remplacé Oumar Maal en 2018 après avoir été son adjoint.
