CAN 2022 : Le Sénégal Rejoint Le Burkina Faso En Demi-finale

Le vice-champion d’Afrique a tenu son rang. Solide vainqueur de la Guinée équatoriale (114e nation au classement Fifa), le Sénégal l’a emporté grâce à des buts de Famara Diédhiou (28e), Cheikhou Kouyaté (68e) et Ismaïla Sarr (79e). Qualifiés pour les demi-finales, les Lions de la Teranga affronteront le Burkina Faso, mercredi prochain à 20 heures.

Première nation africaine au classement Fifa et favori à la victoire finale, le Sénégal donne le coup d’envoi du dernier quart de finale de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations face à la Guinée-équatoriale (114e nation mondiale), après le coup de sifflet inaugural de l’arbitre sud-africain Victor Gomes. Ambitieux, ce sont les Équato-Guinéens qui se procurent la première situation avec une frappe d’Iban Edu (3e), sans danger pour Édouard Mendy ou un bon centre (7e), repoussé par l’hermétique défense des Lions de la Teranga. La réponse sénégalaise se fait attendre mais survient sur coup-franc. À l’entrée de la surface de réparation, Idrissa Gueye enroule une frappe qui n’accroche pas le cadre (13e). Puis, c’est au tour de Famara Diédhiou de s’offrir une opportunité. Mais son tir, trop écrasé, n’inquiète pas Jesús Owono (21e). Et la sanction va finir par tomber. Après un très bon mouvement collectif, Saliou Ciss s’appuie sur Sadio Mané qui sert Famara Diédhou en profondeur dans la surface de réparation. Plus grand, plus fort et plus rapide, l’attaquant de l’Alanyaspor jaillit avant de tromper Owono (28e, 1-0). Scénario idéal pour le Sénégal.

Au retour des vestiaires, aucun changement n’est à signaler et la Guinée équatoriale donne le coup d’envoi du second acte. Et alors que le Sénégal semble avoir la mainmise sur la rencontre, il va se faire une très grosse frayeur. Kalidou Koulibaly est coupable d’une faute de main dans la surface de réparation et M. Gomes désigne le point de penalty (50e). Cependant, après vérification des images, l’arbitre sud-Africain se déjuge et laisse le Sénégal se dégager (52e). Mais une situation en amenant une autre, la Guinée équatoriale va réussir à revenir au score juste avant l’heure de jeu. Parfaitement servi à l’entrée de la surface de réparation, Jannick Buyla contrôle vers l’avant et enchaîne d’une frappe hors de portée d’Edouard Mendy (57e, 1-1). Le match est relancé.

Sur un corner tiré par Bouna Sarr, le cuir est mal repoussé par la défense équato-guinéenne et revient vers le point de penalty. En embuscade, Kouyaté profite d’une mésentente entre deux défenseurs pour devancer Jesús Owono de la tête et donner l’avantage aux siens (68e, 2-1).

Et dans la foulée de ce but, la Guinée équatoriale va finir par craquer. Trouvé sur un long centre côté gauche, Aliou Ciss prend de vitesse les défenseurs et pénètre dans la surface de réparation avant de servir Ismaïla Sarr, esseulé au point de penalty. L’ancien joueur du stade Rennais arme une frappe puissante qui crucifie Owono, impuissant (79e, 3-1). Le break est fait.

En fin de rencontre, les Équato-Guinéens jettent leurs dernières forces dans la bataille mais ne parviennent pas à inquiéter la défense sénégalaise. Et au terme du temps réglementaire, les Lions de la Teranga décrochent logiquement leur billet pour les demi-finales de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations. Les coéquipiers de Sadio Mané affronteront le Burkina Faso, mercredi prochain à 20 heures. Une rencontre à suivre en direct sur le site du Point.
