Il est clair, aujourd’hui, que la prise de décisions est indispensable pour avancer mais surtout pour obtenir des résultats avec des actions. Ce qui fait que la commune de Pété a besoin d’hommes de valeurs pouvant intervenir dans le seul et unique but de développer cette localité. Les décisions prises dans le domaine territorial (eau, santé, éducation, énergie, terres,..) doivent refléter les valeurs véhiculées par l’ensemble de la société ; puisque c’est d’elle qu’il s’agit.
A Pété, l’actuel maire est un produit du milieu associatif, car il a eu à intervenir pendant de longues années dans l’associations de développement de sa ville natale (Dental Pété). Une telle expérience le dispose à comprendre l’importance des processus participatifs dans le développement local. D’ailleurs, c’est l’un des points de la campagne électoral du N°1 de Pété lors des dernières élections locales.
Elu maire le 23 janvier 2022, Moussa Abdoul Thiam essaie d’innover en matière de gestion locale avec l’implication de toutes les couches sociales. C’est en ce sens qu’il a nommé il y’a quelques jours Monsieur Cheikh Hanne, conseiller spécial chargé des Affaires Religieuses. Ensuite, Monsieur Amadou Samba Diallo nommé conseiller spécial du maire en charge des Associations et Organisations Communautaires de Base (AOCB).
Ces nominations s’expliquent entre autres par la volonté de l’édile de Pété de mettre en place une gestion concertée comme le réclamaient bien des cadres de la localité. A noter que ces derniers ne demandent qu’à servir Pété. Ces nominations se justifient aussi par la reconnaissance mutuelle du premier magistrat de la ville envers ces aînés et ceux qui, depuis longtemps travaillent pour l’émergence de cette commune. Ces choix permettent également de rendre des comptes à la population pour créer des conditions de confiance. L’objectif est de mettre lettrés et illettrés au même niveau de compréhension. Ainsi, les habitants seront en mesure d’apprécier l’utilité et l’efficacité des dépenses où des décisions prises par la mairie. Parce que l’implication des acteurs locaux dans la gestion de leur territoire limite les conflits et facilite la définition de solutions consensuelles.
