Ceux qui critiquent la loi sont sur le terrain. On les voit tous les jours et vous les verrez tous le jour du dépôt, remettre leurs parrainages. On sait ce que c’est un moyen de renforcer notre démocratie en l’organisant. Une démocratie qui n’est pas organisée vire à l’anarchie. C’est l’occasion de dire à la Cour de la CEDEAO, il faut que ses décisions soient conformes à la réalité. Ça fait partie de notre corpus électoral. Ce n’est qu’un échantillon« .

D’après la coordinatrice des parrainages de Bby, « la Cour de justice de la CEDEAO est une Cour que nous reconnaissons, qui fait partie de notre dispositif juridique communautaire. Mais, il faut qu’elle comprenne qu’il y a un aspect pratique des élections. Il faut que sa décision soit en conformité avec sa mise en œuvre possible. Il ne peut pas exister et il n’existe plus, dans aucune démocratie, des élections sans un système de filtre minimal. La loi Sénégalaise définit un parrainage ouvert. Je pense que si un parti n’arrive pas à collecter parce qu’il n’a pas suffisamment de militants, il peut se mettre en coalition. Une démocratie s’organise sinon elle vire à l’anarchie« .
