Au moins sept personnes ont été tuées, samedi 8 août, par l’explosion d’une voiture piégée visant un camp militaire dans la capitale somalienne Mogadiscio, ont indiqué l’armée et les services de secours locaux.
L’attaque, revendiquée par les rebelles islamistes Shebab, a visé un camp jouxtant le stade national de la capitale, où sont stationnées des troupes de l’Armée nationale somalienne (SNA).
« Il y a eu une grosse explosion au camp de la 27e brigade. Un véhicule bourré d’explosifs a forcé l’entrée et a fait des pertes. Sept personnes ont été tuées et plus d’une dizaine blessées », a affirmé Mohamed Abdirahman, un lieutenant de la SNA.
L’entreprise Aamin Ambulance, seul service de secours privé opérant en Somalie, a indiqué dans un communiqué que huit personnes avaient été tuées et quatorze blessées.
Selon des témoins, le véhicule piégé a passé un premier check-point avant d’exploser à proximité du camp.
L’attaque a été revendiquées quelques minutes après dans un bref communiqué par les rebelles islamistes Shebab, qui mènent une guerre d’usure contre le régime somalien depuis 2008.
Attentats et attaques islamistes sont fréquentes à Mogadiscio, même si leur rythme s’est ralenti depuis le début de l’année.
