L’état de Santé des pêcheurs contaminés à Thiaroye-Sur-Mer inquiète plus d’un. Sur les photos qui font le tour des médias, ce mercredi, le décor du corps de ces pauvres jeunes est marqué par des démangeaisons cutanées et inflammations. Une situation alarmante qui impose des démarches sur la découverte des causes de cette maladie.
Si l’on ne sait pas pour l’heure exactement les véritables causes de la maladie, on sait au moins les pistes à écarter. La première est une marée noire. En effet, la récente découverte des fuites de produits pétroliers de la Société Africaine de Raffinage (Sar), sur la mer de Mbao, laissait croire qu’ils pourraient être à l’origine de la maladie sur les pêcheurs qui habitent non loin de l’usine.
Mais, selon Mamadou Hann, Dermatologue, « il est très peu probable que cette maladie vienne d’une marée noire. Cette dernière provoque des démangeaisons uniquement au niveau de la surface de la peau. Or on constate sur ces pêcheurs des démangeaisons jusqu’à l’intérieur de la bouche. Ce qui crée l’infection provient probablement donc de l’intérieur de l’organisme. Si un produit a causé la maladie, il a été probablement avalé ».
Toutefois, le spécialiste des maladies de la peau renseigne que « pour appréhender les réelles causes de la maladie il faut encore un peu de temps pour effectuer les prélèvements et les analyser.
