Célébration De La Journée Du Livre Et Du Droit D’Auteur , Vendredi

Le Sénégal célèbre ce vendredi la journée mondiale du livre et du droit d’auteur, avec l’objectif de susciter des activités spécifiques destinées à la promotion du livre et de la lecture partout dans le pays, annonce un communiqué du ministère de la Culture et de la Communication reçu à sunupost.com.

La cérémonie officielle est prévue à 9 heures 30 à la maison de la presse, sous la présidence du ministre de la Culture et de la Communication, Abdoulaye Diop, précise la même source.

Le ministère saisira l’occasion pour remettre un don de livres à l’Association de la presse culturelle du Sénégal (APCS).

L’événement est présentée comme une opportunité de promouvoir le livre et la lecture au niveau des centres culturels régionaux et des centres de lecture et d’animation culturelle (Clac).

Abdoulaye Diop va procéder samedi à l’inauguration du nouveau centre de lecture et d’animation culturelle (Clac) de Méouane dans la région de Thiès, baptisé Abdoul Aziz Mbaye, du nom de l’ancien ministre de la Culture décédé au mois de février dernier.

Organisée par l’UNESCO, la journée mondiale du livre et du droit d’auteur, un évènement annuel créé en 1995, est célébrée chaque 23 avril.

Elle rend hommage à de très grands écrivains, comme Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare et Inca Carcilaso De la Vega dont la date de décès coïncide avec l’évènement.
