Le FC Barcelone a publié un communiqué ce jeudi, en fin de journée, annonçant que Lionel Messi ne prolongerait pas l’aventure au sein du club catalan. « Malgré un accord entre le FC Barcelone et Leo Messi et avec l’intention claire des deux parties de signer un nouveau contrat aujourd’hui, il ne sera pas possible d’officialiser en raison d’obstacles économiques et structurels (règlement de la Ligue espagnole) », explique le club.
« Face à cette situation, Lionel Messi ne restera pas lié au FC Barcelone, ajoute le club. Les deux parties regrettent profondément qu’en fin de compte les souhaits du joueur et du club ne puissent pas être exaucés. »
