Née il y a moins d’une dizaine d’années, grâce à la vision du président de la République Macky Sall, la compagnie Air Sénégal continue d’étendre ses ailes. Après sa main tendue vers les grandes villes de la sous-région et d’Europe, ledit pavillon sénégalais a lancé son premier vol à destination des États-Unis. Le vol inaugural a eu lieu ce mercredi, à l’Aéroport international Blaise Diagne. Et c’était en présence de Alioune Sarr, Ministre du Tourisme et des transports aériens, de son Excellence Tulinabo S. Mushingi, Ambassadeur des États-Unis au Sénégal, de Ibrahima Kane, le Directeur général d’Air Sénégal, entre autres.
Désormais, il faudra compter sur la compagnie Air Sénégal avec la ligne Dakar-New-York-Washington pour rallier les États-Unis. Le vol inaugural de cette nouvelle ligne a eu lieu dans la soirée de ce mercredi à l’Aéorport international Blaise Diagne (Aibd).
À la cérémonie officielle d’inauguration de ce vol Dakar-New-York-Washington, le ministre Alioune Sarr a transmis un message d’encouragement du président Macky Sall. ‘’Je voudrais avant tout propos vous transmettre les mots de monsieur le président de la République, mots qu’il a prononcés lors du Conseil des ministres quand nous lui avons fait l’exposé de ce premier vol d’Air Sénégal à destination des Usa. Ses mots, sont des mots d’encouragement. Il nous encourage pour le brillant travail que vous avez fait jusqu’ici qui nous permet aujourd’hui, dans un délai aussi court de matérialiser une partie de son projet phare qui est celui du Sénégal’’.
Pour M. Sarr, c’est une étape qui a été franchie avec ce vol vers les Usa, mais il reste encore du chemin à faire, même s’il se dit confiant. ‘’Ce pays où converge le transport aérien du continent, de l’Europe, de l’Amérique du Nord à destination et en provenance du Sénégal. Cela veut dire simplement que beaucoup a été fait, mais beaucoup reste à être fait’’.
‘’Cette nouvelle ligne renforcera l’excellence des relations diplomatiques, culturelles et surtout, économiques entre le Sénégal et les Usa.’’
Cette plateforme a été l’occasion pour Alioune Sarr de décerner son satisfecit aux acteurs de la plateforme aéroportuaire dont M. Kane, le Dg de Air Sénégal. ‘’Je voudrais profiter, de cette occasion, pour vous féliciter tous mais au premier rang ceux-là avec qui je suis en contact tous les jours et sur qui j’avoue, je n’écarte pas une pression terrible : les Dg de Aibd, Air Sénégal, L’As, 2 As. Pour vous dire que cette vision du président de la République de faire de notre pays un hub majeur aura des impacts économiques et touristiques de très grande envergure. Je voudrais encore une fois vous transmettre ce message et vous dire que nous sommes ensemble pour ce projet qui aura un impact important pour le Sénégal’’. Une conviction qu’il dit avoir parce que conscient, avec ses collaborateurs, ‘’que le marché américain du transport aérien est extrêmement exigeant’’.
À l’en croire, ‘’le succès de cette nouvelle ligne Dakar-New-York-Washington’’ ne se limite pas seulement à trouver assez de passagers pour les vols Dakar-New-York-Washington. ‘’Au-delà du remplissage des avions, c’est également la capacité de l’ensemble des acteurs (Air Sénégal, Aibd, la Haute autorité, l’As, 2As, Tsa) à faire d’Air Sénégal des vols sûrs, qui laissent aux passagers, une expérience inégalable’’. C’est dans ce sens qu’il a plaidé pour un meilleur comportement de l’ensemble du personnel de Aibd mais aussi de la compagnie aérienne nationale. ‘’Nous devons vivre l’esprit Teranga aussi bien dans les avions d’Air Sénégal que sur tout le parcours du passager. Le succès de cette nouvelle ligne nous oblige à redoubler d’efforts sur les questions de sûreté et de sécurité, mais aussi de facilitation’’.
‘’Air Sénégal va littéralement me faciliter la tâche en ouvrant cette belle route …’’
Le ministre Alioune Sarr dit avoir ‘’l’espoir que cette nouvelle ligne renforcera l’excellence des relations diplomatiques, culturelles mais aussi et surtout, économiques entre le Sénégal, les Usa pour le bénéfice de nos deux peuples. Elles constituent également une formidable opportunité de développer davantage le tourisme entre le Sénégal et les Usa notamment, nos amis, nos parents afro-américains’’.
C’est par des encouragements à l’endroit du Directeur général d’Air Sénégal ainsi qu’à celui de Aibd qui, à ses yeux, est ‘’la personne sur laquelle va reposer Air Sénégal’’ qu’il a conclu ses propos en rappelant ‘’qu’Air Sénégal est un des piliers majeurs de cette stratégie, à côté de Aibd et des aéroports régionaux. Nous avons tous un défi. Vous en avez la capacité. Vous en avez la compétence puisque vous avez fait les meilleures écoles au monde. Donc nous n’avons pas le droit d’échouer, et insh’Allah nous allons réussir’’, dira le ministre.
Pour sa part, Tulinabo S. Mushingi, l’ambassadeur des Etats-Unis au Sénégal, a salué le lancement de cette nouvelle ligne aérienne reliant les deux villes américaines et Dakar. ‘’Air Sénégal va littéralement me faciliter la tâche en ouvrant cette belle route afin que plus d’américains puissent venir au Sénégal’’.
À son tour, Ibrahima Kane, le Dg de Air Sénégal, s‘est réjoui d’avoir été du nombre des acteurs présents, ‘’dans ce cadre festif à l’occasion du premier vol de la compagnie (aérienne) nationale vers les Usa. Cet évènement important marque sans aucun doute une étape majeure de la vie d’Air Sénégal et de l’aviation civile Sénégalaise en général’’. Ce fut un moment pour lui de se féliciter du progrès réalisé par la compagnie qu’il dirige. ‘’En effet, 3 années après son premier vol vers Ziguinchor effectué dans un avion Atr 72, Air Sénégal déploie son deuxième avion A330Néo sur l’axe Dakar-New-York-Washington marquant ainsi un palier majeur dans la phase de déploiement de son réseau. Aujourd’hui, Air Sénégal, avec une flotte de 8 avions dessert 21 destinations faisant le lien entre l’Afrique de l’ouest, l’Afrique Centrale et les destinations intercontinentales que sont l’Europe et aujourd’hui les États-Unis d’Amérique. Air Sénégal, avec le lancement de ces groupes majeurs, achève la mise en place de son ambition liée au projet lancé par le président de la République dans le cadre du Pse et du projet du hub aérien
