LIAISONS SULFUREUSES DE LA PRESSE ET DES MILIEUX POLITICOAFFAIRISTES : Dernières Nouvelles D’une Presse Qui Se Couvre Bien

La Presse sénégalaise est redoutée par une catégorie de citoyens qui ont peur de voir ses turpitudes étalées au Grand jour, mais de moins en moins par le Régime qui y comte quelques solides amitiés. Or l’amitié, cela compte beaucoup en Afrique. Dernier avatar en date, ce samedi 16 mai, avec le miracle des deux versions de l’Observateur.
Retour sur un fait pas si « inédit » que la corporation couvre. Le linge salle a rappelé récemment le Directeur de cabinet du Ministre de la Santé se lave entre copains.

Ce ne serait faire l’injure à personne que d’affirmer qu’une partie de la Presse privée a des yeux de Chimène pour le Pouvoir. Pas de manière outrancière, comme le Soleil ou la RTS qui brillent pour leur inféodation servile à la cause du Président Macky Sall, de son Parti, l’APR, et accessoirement de l’Etat. Mais, et l’effet peut en être plus nocif, sous le couvert d’une neutralité voire d’une hostilité de façade.
La subtilité ici consiste à vouloir séparer les relations personnelles du patron ou propriétaire du média avec la ligne éditoriale « neutre » de ce dernier. Les exemples font légion. Libération prétend, sans convaincre le lectorat, faire de la distanciation « déontologique » avec le virus du parti pris pour le Pouvoir quand Yakham Mbaye est dans l’osmose d’intérêts politiques. Le Quotidien a perdu de son lustre, durement acquis durant les années Wade, par des relations sulfureuses assumées avec le régime actuel : Seul Madiambal peut encore se bercer d’illusion que « son » Journal observe, au quotidien, l’impartialité et l’objectivité dans le traitement de l’information.
L’observateur du Ministre-conseiller Youssou Ndour a pendant longtemps nagé entre deux eaux. Ses accointances avec le régime étaient voilées par des dossiers savamment balancés.
En 2009, l’Observateur avait provoqué l’indignation générale en publiant une interview du candidat à la Mairie de Dakar, Karim Wade, la veille du scrutin, le samedi 21 mars alors que la campagne électorale était close. Cet entretien avait été aussi diffusé la veille au soir par la RFM. Le fait avait choqué et longtemps interrogé sur les liens entre le Patron du Groupe et le Pouvoir. Le vent tournant, ces rapports se dégraderont. Youssou Ndour sera même un des acteurs de l’alternance de 2012 puis un fervent soutien de Macky Sall. Peu à peu, l’Observateur changera d’angle selon lequel il observe les évènements.
On devine que, comme beaucoup de rédaction dans ou sous l’influence de la galaxie marron-beige, l’Observateur est traversé par des sensibilités différentes, avec des journalistes très férus et imbus de leur sacerdoce, et d’autres moins regardant sur l’alignement politique. Ainsi, durant l’affaire de l’appel à témoins du Procureur de la République sur l’affaire Aliou Sall et Frank Timis, l’observateur semblait disposer d’un accès privilégié aux coulisses des auditions. Ses sarcasmes contre certains opposants (Abdoul Mbaye en particulier) étaient déplacés, dans une affaire où pourtant le Pouvoir semblait être plus accablé, par son Propre rapport issu de l’Inspection générale d’Etat de la Présidence de la République.
A l’époque déjà, une part importante de la Presse s’était contentée du démenti de l’Etat visant à faire gober à l’opinion ce morceau plus gros qu’un éléphant que le Président de la République n’a jamais reçu ledit rapport. Peu de journalistes ont poussé la curiosité professionnelle au point d’exploiter ce rapport qui circulait dans Internet. En revanche la Parole du Procureur était relayée comme si, parce qu’elle est officielle, elle ne pouvait être que vraie.
A force de faire le funambule, on finit par s’étaler. L’Observateur s’est étalé au grand jour en trébuchant sur un petit décret de deux pages. L’Opinion a eu droit, en l’espace de quelques heures, à deux versions d’un même numéro du quotidien cher à Youssou Ndour. Une première version avait cours avant l’heure du laitier. Cette version dont la UNE portait sur « L’ACTE MANQUE DE MACKY SALL – Révélations sur le décret instituant un honorariat pour les anciens présidents du Cese – PAGE 3 » fut retirée à l’heure du Xëdd. Après le Couvre-feu, les lecteurs découvriront une autre version, où Karim Fofana pointait un doigt accusateur(?). Contre l’ACTE MANQUE DE L’OBSERVATEUR ?
Un acte valant plus que mille démonstrations alambiquées sur les connivences toujours difficiles à établir, l’auto-censure de l’Observateur est une petite fuite dans les nombreux arrangements qui décident des unes et de certains articles.

On comprend mieux maintenant le sens de la philosophie ‹‹ Fékké Ma Ci Bollé ››, de Big YOU qui ne rate jamais l’occasion d’intégrer la mouvance présidentielle.
Des personnes sont souvent affreusement (sans doute à justice titre (sic) molestées à coups d’articles, d’autres sont aux petits soins, couverts de lauriers usurpés. Quand bien même, comme dans l’affaire Akilee, de solides présomptions sont documentées pour déchirer les fausses réputations, c’est à un tir de barrage de couverture du présumé fautif auquel on assiste. Quitte à lyncher le révélateur des mal pratiques.

Un autre symptôme du malaise qui règne dans la Presse sénégalaise est qu’elle s’interdit de parler d’elle-même. Tabou absolu. L’affaire de l’Observateur faire hurler de rires toutes les rédactions, mais juste dans le cadre feutré des salles de rédaction. Cependant, des peccadilles comme des crimes plus pendables de toutes les autres catégories socioprofessionnelles, la Presse fait ses choux gras : les petits crimes entre coépouses, les écarts de certains maîtres coraniques, les dérives des politiques (et encore).

C’est qu’une partie des patrons de Presse sont du Système. L’Agent économique principal, dominant est l’Etat, qui en outre distribue le foncier à sa convenance. Or, il y a de bons morceaux à prendre du côté de l’aéroport de Yoff : qui pour une imprimerie, qui pour des bureaux. Voilà qui explique pourquoi l’énorme bradage du foncier ne fait l’objet que de peu d’attentions, par quelques journalistes free-lance.
