Justice : Ronaldinho Remis En Liberté Après Cinq Mois De Détention

L’ancien champion du monde brésilien Ronaldinho, détenu au Paraguay depuis plus de cinq mois pour usage de passeports falsifiés, a été remis lundi en liberté, écopant d’une amende de 90.000 dollars.

Ronaldo de Assis Moreira «est libre de voyager dans le pays du monde qui (lui) plaira, mais il devra faire savoir s’il change d’adresse permanente» pendant une période d’un an, a déclaré le magistrat lors d’une audience à Asuncion devant statuer sur le sort de l’ancien footballeur.

Coiffé d’un béret noir, vêtu d’une chemise de la même couleur et d’un jean, l’ex-joueur du FC Barcelone et du Paris Saint-Germain a indiqué au juge «accepter» la proposition du parquet d’une «suspension conditionnelle de la procédure» puisque la sanction envisagée ne dépasse pas deux ans.

Le ministère public a néanmoins demandé le paiement par Ronaldinho d’une amende de 90.000 dollars pour «dommage à la société». Le magistrat Gustavo Amarilla a également accordé la remise en liberté au frère de l’ex-joueur brésilien, Roberto de Assis Moreira, qui se trouvait aussi en détention.

UNE VINGTAINE DE PERSONNES ARRÊTÉES DANS CETTE AFFAIRE
Mais ce dernier a été condamné à deux ans de prison avec sursis, au paiement d’une amende de 110.000 dollars et à l’obligation de se présenter tous les quatre mois devant un juge brésilien pendant deux ans. La justice paraguayenne a estimé qu’il avait eu connaissance de la fraude.

Après avoir été détenus dans un commissariat d’Asuncion, où le Ballon d’Or 2005 a fêté ses 40 ans le 21 mars, les deux frères étaient assignés à résidence depuis presque cinq mois dans un hôtel de luxe de la capitale, contre le dépôt d’une caution de 1,6 million de dollars.

Venus pour faire notamment la promotion d’un livre, ils sont accusés d’être entrés au Paraguay en possession de passeports paraguayens falsifiés. Les deux hommes avaient montré leurs documents à la police de l’immigration, qui n’avait pas immédiatement relevé d’anomalie. La police paraguayenne avait ensuite perquisitionné l’hôtel où logeaient les deux hommes.

Les enquêteurs y avaient alors découvert de faux passeports paraguayens confectionnés à Asuncion quelques mois auparavant, selon les autorités.

Une vingtaine de personnes ont déjà été arrêtées dans le cadre de cette affaire, pour la plupart des fonctionnaires des services d’immigration ou des policiers. La femme d’affaires qui a géré l’arrivée de la star du football au Paraguay, Dalia Lopez, est toujours en fuite.

Des sources au sein de la défense ont indiqué que Ronaldinho et Roberto rentreront dès que possible au Brésil à bord d’un vol privé, une fois les autorisations correspondantes obtenues
