Le Sukeru Koor, un fardeau ou un cadeau

Pour raffermir les liens familiaux, les femmes mariées sénégalaises offrent chaque ramadan à leur belle-famille le sukeru koor. Un cadeau composé généralement de denrées alimentaire, coiffées de quelques billets d’argent. Une tradition bien sénégalaise! Aujourd’hui celle ci perd son objectif de raffermir les liens familiaux. Le Sukaru Koor devient source de problèmes entre la femme mariée et sa belle-famille et de difficultés.

Rencontrée au rond-point liberté 6, Maguette MBOYE nous partage son avis sur ce fameux sukeru koor.  » Une femme mariée ne doit pas attendre le Ramadan pour offrir des cadeaux à sa belle-famille. Des cadeaux impromptus, voilà ce qui fera d’elle la plus aimée de ses beaux-parents ». Elle ajoute: « Même si je donne le sukeru kor chaque ramadan pour faire plaisir à mon époux et ma belle-mère ».

Sous couvert de l’anonymat, cette dame se prononce.  » Le sukeru koor est une tradition sénégalaise. Il a toujours été perçu comme un geste de solidarité. Maintenant il est devenu une obligation dont il faut s’acquitter au risque d’être la risée de sa belle famille. Les femmes ne se sentent pas à  l’aise tant qu’elles ne le donnent pas.  Dans le cas contraire elles sont victimes de piques de toutes la belles-famille particulièrement  des belles-sœurs.

Selon Oustaz Mouhammad Fall le mois de ramadan est un mois béni où les fidèles  musulmans doivent multiplier leurs bonnes œuvres envers les démunis et leurs familles. Cependant précise t-il, vouloir faire du sukeru koor une charte de l’islam est une aberration. 

Le sukeru koor n’est pas uniquement une affaire de femme au sénégal. Les hommes aussi veulent gagner l’estime et la sympathie de leurs belles familles. À la place de ce que les femmes donnent, ils remettent de l’argent, une manière de séduire les beaux-parents.

Malgré la cherté de la vie et le contexte actuel du pays ( coronavirus), les hommes et femmes mariés ne peuvent s’empêcher de donner ce joyeux cadeau. Ces dernières années, des jeunes filles sont venues se greffer au rang des donneurs de sukeru koor.  Pour ce groupe, l’objectif est de gagner le coeur des futurs beaux parents en usant d’enveloppes d’argent, jugées plus discrètes que des paniers flamboyants qu’elles auront le plaisir ou le “devoir” d’offrir une fois bien installées dans leurs foyers.

    You might glance at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they create
    news titles to grab people interested. You might try adding a video or a
    related pic or two to grab people excited about everything’ve got to say.
    Just my opinion, it would make your posts a little bit more interesting.
