Même si aucune date n’a été, pour le moment, retenue pour la reprise des combats de lutte pour la saison 2021, une chose est sûre, les compétitions vont démarrer à huis clos.
Joint par iRadio, Adama Bopp, porte-parole du Comité national de gestion de la lutte (CNG) a rappelé les conclusions de la réunion entre le ministre des Sports, Matar BA, avec la délégation de l’équipe dirigeante conduite par son président, Ibrahima Sène, en même temps que les promoteurs, managers et amateurs. A l’occasion, la tutelle avait annoncé que l’État était prêt à accompagner la discipline vers la reprise des compétitions après dix mois de suspension en raison du coronavirus.
Seul bémol, avait relevé le ministre, « le système retenu sera le huis clos comme cela se fait un peu partout dans le monde. (Matar BA) nous avait instruit de rencontrer les promoteurs afin qu’ils nous déclinent leur feuille de route. C’est-à-dire les promoteurs qui avaient déjà des dates avant l’arrivée de la Covid-19, et ceux qui veulent organiser avec la formule à huis clos, de chiffrer le manque à gagner du fait de l’absence de spectateurs. C’est à nous CNG de faire la compilation de ces budgets prévisionnels et de les remonter au plus tard le 5 janvier sur la table du ministre des Sports. Qui, à son tour, va remonter l’information au niveau du Conseil des ministres pour arbitrage de l’autorité. »
Bopp est catégorique : « aucune date n’est retenue, pour le moment, parce que nous sommes en train de travailler pour ça. » Mais, « le protocole sanitaire est déjà disponible. »
Interrogé à l’issue de la réunion en question, le promoteur Gaston Mbengue avait interpellé le chef de l’État, Macky Sall : « on a entendu les lutteurs crier, demandant l’ouverture de l’arène. Mais celle-ci ne peut pas s’ouvrir comme ça. Ce sont les promoteurs qui peuvent décanter la situation mais pour ce faire, il faut le soutien du président de la République. Donc, nous lui demandons de venir en aide aux promoteurs. C’est seul dans le secteur de la lutte, qu’on entend qu’on a payé 150 millions F CFA à un lutteur. Tenir des combats à huis clos, cela dépend de ce que l’État va nous proposer. On a dépensé beaucoup d’argent. Pour mes combats, j’ai déjà dépensé 300 millions F CFA. Les autres promoteurs ont aussi dépensé beaucoup d’argent ».
En autres affiches, Gaston Mbengue a décroché la revanche Bombardier / Balla Gaye 2.
