D’Abidjan à Mama son village natal, 30 kilomètres de Gagnoa, dans la région de Gôh, le retour de l’ancien président ivoirien, Laurent Gbagbo est sur toutes les lèvres, sauf que des zones d’ombres au tableau persistent.
Récemment à Abidjan, une polémique sur un retour en grande pompe ou en catimini de l’ancien président ivoirien avait alimenté les débats. Si le régime d’Abidjan cultive le mystère autour de la date du retour du grand rival de l’actuel président ivoirien, Alassane Ouattara, le secrétaire général du FPI, Assoa Adou, ce lundi 31 mai a fait savoir que Laurent Gbagbo rentrera le 17 juin prochain.
« Je vous annonce que le retour du président Laurent Gbagbo sur la terre de Côte d’Ivoire est prévu pour le 17 juin », a déclaré Assoa Adou, secrétaire général du Front populaire ivoirien (FPI) créé par l’ancien président (2000-2010).
Assoa Adou a fait cette annonce lors d’une cérémonie tenue le jour des 76 ans de Laurent Gbagbo, né le 31 mai 1945.
Interrogé par Africanews, l’avocat membre de l’équipe de défense de Charles Blé Goudé, Me Gbougnon Jean Serge a abordé dans le même sens : la seule chose que je sais et qu’il (Laurent Gbagbo) m’a dite c’est qu’il envisage de rentrer à la mi-juin. D’ordinaire silencieux, l’ex-président ivoirien définitivement acquitté par la Cour pénale internationale le 31 mars dernier a gardé sa posture, nos demandes d’interview sont restées lettres mortes, mais à en croire son ex-avocat, et le secrétaire général du Front populaire ivoirien, la date de son très attendu retour en terre ivoirienne est actée : mi-juin.
Si l’information était très peu rendue publique dans les sphères du Front populaire ivoirien, parti de Laurent Gbagbo, c’est aussi parce qu’Abidjan semblait vouloir politiser ce retour et le compromettre.
Pour Fernand Dedeh, journaliste ivoirien : les autorités ivoiriennes jouent à se faire peur et pour autant assure-t-il : Le retour de Gbagbo Laurent en Côte d’Ivoire est acté. Il est citoyen libre, acquitté par la CPI. Aucune contrainte, autre que politicienne et surtout les états d’âme, ne peut prospérer sur son chemin de retour. Seulement voilà, Gbagbo n’est pas un citoyen ordinaire. Son retour doit être encadré. Il faut un minimum de consensus pour garantir sa sécurité, Éviter les débordements, assurer la stabilité, Les discussions sont en cours pour répondre à ses défi. Le reste, c’est la politique. Le pouvoir a perdu une importante bataille. À la fois politique, juridique, judiciaire et morale face à Gbagbo. Le retour de Gbagbo est un vrai camouflet pour lui. Le pouvoir essaie d’entretenir le moral de ses militants et les tenir mobilisés. L’Opposition reprend du poils de la bête. Elle retrouve son leader et les militants, un dynamisme nouveau. Gbagbo Laurent est un vrai cas de conscience pour le pouvoir explique l’ex-chef de Département de Sport RTI.
Qui veut le retour de Gbagbo
Une semaine après leur acquittement définitif le 31 mars, le président ivoirien Alassane Ouattara montrait des signes de relâchement politique et de pas vers une réconciliation : MM. Gbagbo et Blé Goudé sont libres de rentrer en Côte d’Ivoire quand ils le souhaitent. Des dispositions seront prises pour que Laurent Gbagbo bénéficie, conformément aux textes en vigueur, des avantages et indemnités dus aux anciens présidents de la République, a-t-il ajouté, en précisant que ses frais de voyage et ceux des membres de sa famille seront pris en charge par l’État de Côte d’Ivoire .
Près de deux mois après cette annonce, Laurent Gbagbo n’est toujours pas rentré mais certains de ses plus proches collaborateurs Damanan Pikass, Koné Katinan, l’ex-ministre du budget, sa sœur cadette Jeannette Koudou , Tahi Zué Etienne, Véhi Tokpa, Innocent Kouabena Abouo ont regagné la côte d’Eburnie le 29 avril dernier
